Masahiro Tanikawa currently serves as Executive Director and Head of Capital Advisory, where he leads cross-border capital markets transactions. Starting January 2026, Masahiro will assume the role as Managing Director of Colliers Japan, driving strategic growth for the Japan business.
With over 40 years of experience in the financial and real estate industries, including more than a decade of experience leading U.S. investment banks such as JPMorgan, and 8 years of professional and academic experience in the United States, Masahiro brings a wealth of expertise across the real estate sector. His track record spans J-REIT IPOs, M&A advisory and strategic consulting. Prior to joining Colliers in 2022, he was Head of CBRE’s consulting division.
Masahiro holds a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics Degree from the University of Tokyo and an MBA from Boston University. He is also a licensed U.S. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Washington State.
