Jun Muto is a Senior Managing Director in the Capital Market Group at Hines and serves as Hines’ Direct Officer. Based in Tokyo, he leads Hines’ direct capitalization strategy across the Asia Pacific region and oversees the firm’s Direct Capital program, which connects investor interest in joint ventures with the firm’s global pipeline of investment opportunities.

With more than 20 years of experience in the alternative investment industry, Jun specializes in cross-border business development and management. He has deep knowledge of trading, operations, and distribution, and maintains a strong network within Japan’s alternative investment community.

Prior to joining Hines, Jun held senior roles at PIMCO Japan as Senior Vice President of Alternative Sales and at CBRE KK Japan as Head of Capital Advisors. He began his career as a fixed-income derivatives trader at The Sumitomo Bank Ltd. (now Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation).

Jun holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Washington.
