Chiwoong Lee joined Morgan Stanley MUFG Securities in January 2024 as its Principal Global Economist. Previously, in 2014, Lee joined Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, where he covered Japanese economics, following his tenure at Goldman Sachs from 2006 to 2014 as an economist and equities strategist covering South Korea.

Lee taught Korea Military Academy cadets from 2003 to 2006 as a First Lieutenant and an economics instructor.

He has also held roles as a guest associate professor at the University of Tokyo, a lecturer at the International University of Japan, and a research member on a Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) committee.
