Akira Kosugi is Managing Director of Greystar Asia Pacific, where he led the establishment and growth of the company’s rental housing platform in Japan. He is responsible for implementing and advancing the company’s investment objectives in the region.

Since joining Greystar in 2019, the company has invested in over 5,200 units across major cities in Japan. Kosugi is also a member of the Business Line Investment Committee for the Asia Pacific region. With over 20 years of experience in global real estate investment, he has worked across multiple asset classes globally.

Prior to joining Greystar in 2019, Akira served as Managing Principal of Westbrook Japan in Tokyo. Previously, he also held senior leadership roles at Blackstone, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Grove International Partners. Kosugi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Fordham University.
