Abhijay Sandilya is Managing Director of Japan & Micronesia at IHG® Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies. He oversees strategic growth, performance, and operations in Japan, Guam, Saipan, and Palau.

Previously, Sandilya was Vice President of Development for IHG’s Japan, Australasia, and Pacific region. He led IHG's strategic growth and development across IHG’s portfolio, delivering the Group’s biggest signings and openings growth on record in the region, including the world's first voco and Vignette Collection hotels.

Before joining IHG in 2016, he was Director of Development Planning AMEA for Whitbread PLC in Singapore, leading the investment analysis and feasibility team for the region. He also held the position of Director of Development for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia at the Jumeirah Group in Dubai.

Sandilya has worked in eight countries and holds a Master’s degree from Erasmus University’s Rotterdam School of Management.
